Magic Ball Knitting – Thinking Outside of the Box

Posted on

Every once in a while I revisit topics that I have read in the past. Today I was looking at Knitter’s Review one of my favorite online sources of information and saw an article on “magic ball” knitting. It’s a simple concept. Instead of getting rid of bits and pieces of yarn left over after projects,  you make a ball of yarn by tying the bits and pieces together. Now for some of us this flies in the face of convention. Adding a red wool to a variegated green cotton? But perhaps the lesson here is to lighten up. It’s a great way to use up yarn and a lot of fun items can be made. This would also obviously work if crochet is your craft. Play with this idea and see what you come up with. Has anyone tried this?
