Today I took my computer to the shop for much-needed repair. They tell me that it will be weeks before I get it back. OMG! So for the next few weeks it will be challenging for me to do my blogging. I will do my best however. Today is my crochet day and I must tell you that I spent hours last night on Pinterest looking at crochet projects. There is fabulous stuff there. So tonight I am suggesting that you visit my Pinterest page and look at my pins. Enjoy!!!
I subscribe to New Stitch A Day and I must admit that I generally take only a cursory look at each stitch. Since my crochet skills are not up to par, I think that I should learn some of the stitches that they have videos for. If you are not a subscriber become one. Below is the Rocky Road crochet stitch.
Today’s tool is graph paper. I have tried to make my own but it never works. This is a printable transparency that you can use to make your own designs. It comes in three sizes 4 stitches to 1″, 6 stitches to 1″ and 8 stitches to 1″. It is offered by Garilyn Knitting designs, tools, innovations and art on Etsy. Treat your self!
I have just begun block four of our one a month afghan blocks. It is fun visiting my LYS Knitknack on the first Wednesday of every month to begin our new blocks. We are at different levels of the knitting experience but even for the seasoned knitters there always seems to be something to learn.
Last months block involved making bobbles which I had never done. Turning the work and knitting/purling back and forth was a challenge for me. I was so busy worrying about the bobbles I flubbed the pattern and when I realized it I decided that I had gone too far to take it out. So this is not perfect but it’s good.
I hate not posting to this page but I just haven’t had anything to tell you. Summer school and the class I’m taking have me under the gun. I am working on a project and hopefully will get to a few more during the rest of the summer but I am really going crazy. Haven’t seen my Bergen Crafters in 4 weeks and I truly miss them. Anyway I will be back soon!!
Day two of mindless crochet. No particular pattern. I realized that this is too small for a wash/dish cloth so I will have to make adjustments.
More to come
So I wore my shrug to lunch today and got an order for a variation on it. I am going to make several of these up and have them ready for the street festival in August. I will be posting pictures soon!
